Chetan Shah

Chetan is the Global Head of Power and Gas and Oil Portfolio and a member of the Paratus management team. With more than 30 years’ experience across global oil and energy markets, he brings deep expertise in asset optimisation, and physical and proprietary trading.

Chetan began his career at Statoil, running the natural gas operations team, before going on to Nuon, the Dutch utility company, to build and run the trading desk optimising power plants and pipeline assets. Prior to joining Paratus, he ran the London oil and energy desk, trading a pure proprietary portfolio focussing on optionality and market participant trading behaviour. Chetan then went on to lead derivatives trading desks as a cross-commodity trader at Citi, Credit Suisse (Glencore), and MUFG, managing flow and proprietary trading.

Chetan has a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Warwick.
