Marco Verspuij

Marco joined Paratus as Head of Energy Trading for our asset-backed optimisation business, working closely with our world-class markets team as we build the leading energy price insurance group globally. 

With almost 30 years in global energy markets, Marco is a specialist in trading and origination across power, natural gas, and low-carbon products. He held senior commercial roles in refined products and gas, followed by business development and M&A in Electricity & Low Carbon at Statoil (later Equinor). Following Equinor’s acquisition of Danske Commodities in 2019, he became Head of Global Origination there, before moving to Low Carbon in 2023 as Head of Power Management.

He began his career in down- and midstream LPG sales and marketing across the Netherlands and Spain at SHV Gas/Primagaz.
